Dr. Leigh Alexander is the newest doctor at The Vision Center. She was born and raised in Lubbock, TX. After graduating from Coronado High School, Dr. Alexander attended The University of Texas at Austin where she graduated with a bachelor of science degree in Human Development and Family Sciences. During her last semester of undergraduate education, she completed an internship at the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
Dr. Alexander attended University of Houston College of Optometry. She received a Clinical Letter of Excellence and was elected to the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society. Dr. Alexander completed her externships at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK, and Hope Community Clinic in Houston, TX, where she provided eye care for refugees as well as Hurricane Harvey victims. Dr. Alexander has experience in performing anterior segment laser surgeries, co-managing pre and post operative cataract surgeries, and is Board Certified in the state of Texas. She is an active member of the Texas Optometric Association and American Optometric Association. Dr Alexander is passionate in patient education and strives to ensure her patients understand the visual system in order to provide the utmost patient care.
Dr. Alexander spends most of her free time with her friends, family, and fur babies. She enjoys anything outdoors and staying active.
